Pastured Eggs. Nourishing. Delicious. Gorgeous.
More people are discovering the value of fresh eggs from local, pastured chickens.
In a 2007 study of health benefits of eggs from pastured vs. caged hens (http://www.motherearthnews.com/real-food/tests-reveal-healthier-eggs.aspx), Mother Earth News found that pastured eggs contained:
1/3 less cholesterol
1/4 less saturated fat
2/3 more vitamin A
2 times more omega-3 fatty acids
3 times more vitamin E
7 times more beta carotene
But what does “pastured” really mean? From spring through fall at Burnt Valley Farm, it means chickens living a happy life scratching for bugs in the green grass. The “egg-mobile” provides a safe place to lay eggs during the day and roost at night. Sunshine, greens, bugs and living naturally in a flock should be the norm for every chicken! During our cold winters, the ladies move into their warm and cozy hen house with outdoor yard. Even in the coldest weather, our goal is to provide the healthiest conditions for the happiest chickens. Because it’s right and because healthy, serene chickens produce nutritious, tasty and beautiful eggs!
All Burnt Valley Farm feed contains no soy, corn, GMO’s, medications or hormones.
These eggs are GOOD for you!
